CMI achieves Carbon Neutral Certification for five plants in Guatemala
CMI advances its sustainability strategy with the carbon neutral certification of five plants in Guatemala, reinforcing its regional leadership in environmental responsibility.

As part of its long-term commitment to sustainability, Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI) has achieved carbon neutral certification for five of its production plants in Guatemala. Operated under the B4B business unit and represented by the Molinos Modernos and Aliansa brands, these plants produce flour and animal feed. This milestone strengthens CMI’s position as a regional leader in sustainable and responsible operations.
With this new certification, CMI now operates nine carbon neutral facilities across Central America, including previously certified plants in El Salvador and Costa Rica.
Accelerating Sustainability in the Agri-Food Sector
The certified plants include: Molinos Modernos Norte, Molinos Modernos Sur, Molinos Modernos Quetzaltenango, Aliansa Masagua, and Aliansa Escuintla. The certification process was carried out under ISO 14064-1 and INTE B5 standards and awarded by INTECO. It forms part of CMI’s broader environmental strategy focused on measuring, controlling, and reducing greenhouse gas emissions across the entire production chain.
To reach this goal, CMI implemented emission reduction projects, provided staff training, and collected extensive operational data. Additionally, the company offset 24,000 tons of CO₂ equivalent, which translates into the planting of approximately 1.2 million trees. This carbon offset was made possible through energy credit initiatives from CMI Capital, in close collaboration with CMI Alimentos.
Driving Corporate Impact Through Green Innovation

According to Gabriel Eisemberg, General Manager of B4B, this certification reflects the company’s strong environmental commitment in Guatemala. “We work to ensure that our actions not only benefit our customers and collaborators, but also contribute to environmental stewardship,” he said.
Fátima Pereira, Corporate Affairs and Sustainability Director at CMI Alimentos, added: “This achievement is the direct result of our sustainability strategy and the dedication of the CMI Alimentos team to reducing emissions and protecting the environment.”
A Long-Term Vision for a Sustainable Region
Guided by its corporate purpose of “generating life-changing opportunities with a warm, family spirit,” CMI is committed to developing sustainable projects that improve the lives of families and communities across the region.
With the carbon neutral certification of its Guatemalan facilities, CMI strengthens its position as a key player in the region’s green transition and sets a benchmark for sustainable innovation in the agri-food industry.
