CMI Expands Production Capacity for Animal and Pet Food with New Production Line

Guatemala, December 11, 2024 – Corporación Multi Inversiones (CMI), through its B4B Business Unit, has announced the expansion of its animal and pet food production plant located in Guatemala. The addition of a new production line enables CMI to respond more effectively to the increasing demand across markets, reflecting the growing global trend of families prioritizing the health and well-being of their pets.

As reported by global research firms, the pet food market in Latin America is experiencing rapid growth, with a projected CAGR of over 6% through 2030. This reflects the shifting role of pets as integral members of families, driving demand for high-quality, specialized nutrition.

Increased Capacity and Advanced Automation

With the new production line, CMI has increased its pet food production capacity from 15 metric tons/hour to 25 metric tons/hour. This expansion includes products under leading brands like Rufo, Rambocan, Alimax, and Alimiau. Additionally, the plant will produce food for fish under the Fontana brand and for horses with Sangre Real.

The facility’s modernization incorporates advanced automation and standardized processes, ensuring state-of-the-art quality and safety for all products. These innovations are supported by Aliansa, a brand with over 60 years of expertise in delivering reliable and high-quality nutrition solutions.

"Our B4B Business Unit is where the magic of CMI Alimentos’ value chain begins. It is here that many of the solutions we offer to our clients and consumers are born," said Gabriel Eisemberg, General Manager of B4B. "Today, we celebrate this evolution and automation, which will strengthen our production capacity and allow us to remain pioneers in the regional market alongside our sister Business Unit, B4C."

Strengthening Leadership in the Regional Pet Food Market

CMI’s flagship pet food brands, Rufo and Alimiau, are already market leaders in Guatemala. The expansion positions the company to further grow its footprint across Central America and the Caribbean, meeting the evolving needs of pets and their owners.

"This expansion allows us to continue innovating and delivering high-quality products," said Eduardo Romero, General Manager of B4C. "It reflects our dedication to being the best choice in the pet food market, while also supporting sustainable growth in the region."

A Commitment to Sustainability and Community Impact

This increased production capacity aligns with CMI’s mission to create opportunities that transform lives with warmth and a family-oriented approach. The company continues to invest in the region’s economic growth through innovative, value-driven solutions that positively impact families, communities, and the environment.

With this new facility, CMI reinforces its dedication to excellence, sustainability, and delivering high-quality nutrition solutions that meet the needs of modern pet owners.

CMI's investment in the pet food sector reflects a broader trend: families are placing more emphasis on pet care, driving the growth of premium and tailored pet nutrition. By expanding its capacity and reaching new markets, CMI is set to remain a key player in this dynamic industry.
