DataScope: Chilean Startup Sets Records and Accelerates Regional Expansion
With over 200,000 users across 17 countries and multilingual support in Spanish, English, and Portuguese, Chilean startup DataScope has cemented its position as a key player in the automation of business processes in Latin America.
Founded eight years ago in Santiago, the company has achieved an impressive 80% growth in annual recurring subscriptions over the past 12 months, fueled by enhanced platform features and increased client spending.
According to Statista, the global enterprise automation software market is projected to reach $12.5 billion by 2024—a trend that DataScope is poised to capitalize on. This momentum has been bolstered by its Google for Startups 2023 award, enabling the launch of "DataScope Labs," a dedicated hub for technological innovation.
Strategic Expansion in Mexico
One of DataScope’s primary objectives is to solidify its presence in Mexico, where it already serves 22 clients. The country is emerging as a strategic market, with IBISWorld forecasting a 7.8% annual growth in the enterprise software sector.
To strengthen its foothold, DataScope has forged partnerships with Mexican startups and companies in the health and workplace safety sectors. The company’s recent participation in the Irrazonables Acceleration Program in Mexico has also provided critical mentorship and access to a robust network of startups innovating in high-growth markets.
“Mexico is not only a key market but also a gateway to other regions. We are implementing replicable strategies to expand into similar markets and consolidate our regional growth,” stated Nicolás Serrano, CEO of DataScope.
Driving Productivity and Sustainability
Since its inception, DataScope has helped clients save over 20 million sheets of paper, aligning with a growing corporate demand for sustainable solutions. McKinsey reports that sustainability is a top priority for more than 70% of global CEOs, a trend that DataScope’s platform addresses directly.
In addition, the platform allows businesses to reduce operational task time by up to 50% and achieve a 28% boost in productivity, according to Antonio Grass, Director of Innovation at DataScope. For instance, audits and report generation that once took hours can now be completed within minutes on mobile devices, enabling real-time data-driven decisions.
Positioning for the Future
With a team of 40 professionals and operations spanning Chile, Brazil, Colombia, and Spain, DataScope is charting a path for organic growth and ambitious goals for 2024 and 2025. Following a $600,000 crowdfunding campaign through Broota in 2022, which attracted over 160 individual investors, the company has expanded its team and introduced innovative features that enhance its service offerings.
As DataScope continues to prioritize sustainability, innovation, and regional scalability, it is firmly establishing itself as a leader in the digital transformation of enterprises across Latin America.
