Among the most notable is the Renace Hydroelectric Plant in Guatemala, which features four cascading plants with a total capacity of 301 MW. Other projects include the Choluteca Solar Park in Honduras, with 70 MW, and the Cerro de Hula Wind Farm, also in Honduras, with 126 MW. Additionally, the partnership with AES El Salvador to operate the Bósforo project, which reduces 175,000 tons of CO2 annually, underscores CMI Capital’s commitment to clean energy solutions. In Nicaragua, the Eolo Wind Farm and wind farms in Costa Rica, including Alisios, Orosí, and PESRL. All of these projects highlight CMI Capital’s dedication to wind energy.
Sustainability Strategy and Social Commitment
In 2022, CMI Capital unveiled its "Strategy with Purpose," a sustainability plan guiding its decisions and operations. This strategy is based on three key objectives for 2030: expanding the renewable energy matrix, developing square meters of construction with sustainability criteria, and financing projects with Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) standards.
CMI Capital’s dedication to sustainability is reflected in its objective to expand the renewable energy matrix by at least 330 MW, reduce its carbon footprint, and avoid the emission of 500,000 tons of CO2 annually. In the real estate sector, the company aims to develop 200,000 square meters of urban and industrial spaces under a sustainability criteria. Additionally, they plan to allocate $32.5 million to finance projects that meet ESG standards, thereby promoting responsible business practices.
