A Global Event in South Korea
South Summit, known for bringing together the best of entrepreneurship in Southern Europe and Latin America, is coming to South Korea. The event, co-organized by IE University, will take place from September 25th to 27th in Suwon.
María Benjumea, president and founder of South Summit; Nacho Mateo, vice president of South Summit; Youngsang Bae, director of the Startup Department of Gyeonggi Province; and Jennifer Park, deputy general director of Gyeonggido Business & Science Accelerator (GBSA), recently signed the agreement confirming the celebration of this first edition of South Summit in Asia.
María Benjumea highlighted that South Summit Korea will be a vertical event focused on Deep Tech and Artificial Intelligence, technologies that have strong momentum in South Korea.
The 30 Most Disruptive Startups
With the event formalized, scaleups from Latin America have until July 24th to register and compete for one of the 30 spots in the Startup Competition. This competition is a platform to measure up against the best startups in the fields of Deep Tech and Artificial Intelligence.
South Summit has held editions in Porto Alegre (Brazil) and Madrid (Spain), where 25 startups and scaleups from Mexico, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, Uruguay, Peru, and Brazil reached the final of the entrepreneurship competition and had the opportunity to connect with international investors.
Hyundae Kim, general director of the Future Growth Office of Gyeonggi Province, stated that South Summit Korea will be a great opportunity to showcase the capabilities of Korean startups and attract international investors.
A Global Network of Entrepreneurs and Investors
South Summit is a global platform that brings together all actors of the innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem, fostering the development of business opportunities. Its main event, South Summit Madrid, co-organized by IE University, has seen over 36,000 startups throughout its thirteen editions.
The 13th edition of South Summit Madrid, held from June 5th to 7th, brought together over 18,000 attendees from 133 countries, including more than 6,500 entrepreneurs and 2,000 investors with a portfolio of over $500 billion.
South Summit Korea offers startups in Deep Tech and Artificial Intelligence a prime opportunity to expand into Asia.
