TecPrize: $60,000 USD in Prizes for the Most Innovative EdTechs in Mexico
The Institute for the Future of Education (IFE) at Tecnológico de Monterrey has launched the fifth edition of TecPrize, a competition that seeks to reward the most innovative educational technology (EdTech) startups in the world. This initiative offers a total of $60,000 USD in prizes, aiming to boost ventures that transform education in Latin America.
TecPrize Objectives
TecPrize focuses on using collective intelligence to design and launch annual challenges that seek high-impact solutions to educational challenges in the region. This year, the focus is on how young people and adults in Latin America and the Caribbean can develop the most in-demand labor and digital skills to reduce the talent gap, positively impacting their communities.
Evaluation Criteria
To be considered, participating startups must address one of the following dimensions:
- Developing skills in higher education or lifelong learning through disruptive technologies.
- Reducing the gender gap in education and workforce development in an innovative and scalable way.
- Providing accessibility and inclusion in education for people in vulnerable contexts through digital solutions.
- Impacting diversity and inclusion in human talent through workforce development in organizations.
Prizes and Benefits
The monetary prizes for the top three winners are as follows:
- First place: $30,000 USD
- Second place: $20,000 USD
- Third place: $10,000 USD
Additionally, the 10 finalists will have the opportunity to participate in the IFE EdTech Summit in January 2025 in Monterrey, Mexico, with a complete package that includes entry, flight, accommodation, and a stand at the EdTech fair. The live final will take place on the main stage of the IFE Conference.
Other benefits include:
- An impact measurement bootcamp designed to enhance the projects of the finalists.
- Access to experts, mentors, and valuable connections within Tecnológico de Monterrey and the EdTech ecosystem.
- A 6-month accompaniment program for the top three winners, in collaboration with the Eugenio Garza Lagüera Entrepreneurship Institute and Sniper Canvas.
- Admission for one of the top three winners to the EdTech acceleration program at the University of Southern California - Rossier School of Education.
Deadlines and Registration
Registrations will be open from Monday, July 1 to Thursday, August 29, 2024, at 11:59 PM (GMT-6). Applications must be submitted through the official website: TecPrize.
